The season kickoff of the HSA-SB 2009 sailing season was well attended in spite of the rapidly deteriorating weather that began that early afternoon. The temperatures started to drop, and the wind picked up; but at 1700 the grill was staying lit, the rain held off, and we were able to cook the brats and burgers. Stuffed to the gills. Non-stop eating and the dishes brought to share were delicious.

Have you ever wondered how many people you can fit in a Volkswagen? We can’t answer this one; but we can tell you how many people you can fit in the cockpit of a H44 DS. Attending were Chip and LeMoine Jones (Virginia Breeze), Curt and Carol Morris (Smooth Operator), Pete and Bonnie DeWolf (Sunseeker), Andy and Carmen Spittler (Coriolis), Rick Flack and guest Jane (Spindrift), Alan Moore (Blue Destiny), and Les LaFontaine (Song Sung Blue).

 Had a great time with the Hunter and Chesapeake Bay Trivia Quiz. When we do this again, all of us need to study up. Curt and Carol cleaned up on the door prizes this time around. What a team. They are going to have some happy grandchildren.
